| | Common Name: | fat skull | | Scientific Name: | prenatal temporal lobe hyperplasia |
Details: Behold, a truly bizarre deformity, a skull with prenatal temporal lobe hyperplasia.
Not unlike someone suffering from hydrocephalacy, this condition begins during infancy when the skull is still soft. In this case, expansion takes place in the temporal lobe, resulting in an enormous skull, but no deficiency in brain power.
This one of a kind reproduction is created using a plaster cement hybrid of our own design and is not one of those lightweight resin cast skulls you see at Halloween. This durable skull was cast from a medical model of an adult skull and contains details right down to the cranial grooves. The skull has been hand painted with a custom stain to appear aged and sealed in acrylic lacquer.
